BlueFactory provides services to TIM BlueFactory in breakthrough contract with one of the world's largest GSM provider BlueFactory has signed a contract to provide mobile entertainment services to Telecom Italia Mobile's 21 million subscribers. A total of 11 services, developed in Sweden, will be launched at TIM's mobile portal i-TIM. Italy is the largest mobile telecommunications market in Europe. Of the some 58 million people living there, more than 70% own mobile phones. Although it has a low Internet penetration, Italy has the potential for the same frenetic mobile usage as Japan, a country experiencing high mobile penetration and low Internet penetration. In Japan, i-mode is a clear success. Year to date, some 32 million Japanese users have connected to mobile entertainment there . "As a result of the contract with TIM, we have developed a unique solution that guarantees that the telecommunications provider can handle up to three million SMS per month," said John Wennerström, Technical Manager for BlueFactory. "We can now say that we are one of Europe's largest providers of mobile entertainment services," said Soki Choi, CEO for BlueFactory. "Through the addition of this contract, our reach extends to more than 30 million users throughout Europe." BlueFactory will launch a total of 11 mobile entertainment services onto the Italian market, including a set of exciting quizzes such as SciFI Quiz and Extreme Quiz, as well as the adventure game Hunters & Collectors. BlueFactory will release applications based on SMS and WAP, with the option of global positioning. The Company can also offer entertainment services optimised for GPRS.
