The Multipass gives PDA users better security Blueice Research has launched the Multipass security product allowing users of handheld computers to easily store and organize sensitive information without running the risk of unauthorized persons viewing it. The Multipass is available for download free of charge. "Due to their high availability and their small size, mobile devices are prone to being lost or stolen. This places a strong requirement on the protection of sensitive information stored in the device." says Thomas Holmström, CEO of Blueice Reasearch. The Multipass security client is a software product that protects sensitive information with strong encryption ensuring that only an authorized user can access the protected data. This provides a significantly higher level of security than a scenario where the information is merely protected with a PIN code. The Multipass is available free of charge for personal use. It can be used in on-line mode when accessing applications via wireless technology. In this scenario the Multipass stores digital certificates and keys allowing for strong user identification and the digital signing of transactions. Multipass is available for download at blueiceresearch.com/multipass starting from today. Multipass v1.2 supports Palm OS 3.5 and higher. More platform support will soon be added an details of this are available from the Blueice Research web site.
