OAO Works at De Vera I New York Design Week 2018

Canadian design and manufacturing company Bocci announces the North American launch of its new brand OAO Works at NY antique dealer de Vera during New York Design Week

The newly established OAO Works will present its launch collection at de Vera during New York Design Week 2018. The presentation will consist of five new works which will be represented amongst de Vera’s current collection, making this event the most comprehensive presentation of OAO Works to date.

OAO Works is a loose portfolio of objects, curiosities and ideas. It is structured as a platform to highlight underrepresented themes in Omer Arbel’s work. In some cases, the works in the portfolio resist simple classification, whilst in other cases, they are by-products of other, more targeted investigations. In yet other cases, they are results of very particular relationships, narratives, and collaborations.

Omer Arbel Office is the creative hub of a constellation of companies (OAO Works and Bocci among them), operating in different territories and structured to realize ideas of various scale across a spectrum of environments and contexts. Based in Vancouver and Berlin, Omer Arbel cultivates a uid position between the fields of architecture, sculpture, invention and design. Focal themes of his work include the intrinsic mechanical, physical, and chemical qualities of materials and the exploration of light as a medium.
