WHO: 18th annual Spirit & Place Festival celebrates theme of RISK November 1-10
WHAT: “Race” is a small word but one that largely shapes the perspectives we have of our communities and ourselves. On November 1, the 18th annual Spirit & Place Festival will host “$20K: A Competition about Race,” inviting individuals or groups from any sector or discipline – artists and cultural organizations, faith leaders and congregations, educational institutions and scholars, civic organizations and social entrepreneurs – to submit original projects centered on a daring idea for reshaping notions of race in Central Indiana.
Audience members will cast their votes as four innovators vie for a $20,000 award. The winner will be selected by a combination of judge and audience votes. The submission deadline is October 1. A panel of judges (to be published later) will determine the preliminary finalists. For submission guidelines and selection criteria, visit spiritandplace.org.
