Marcus Johansson Prakt returns to subsidiary board and leads transformation of Spanish holding into property fund
Quartiers Properties AB (publ) ("Quartiers" or the "Company"), listed on Nasdaq First North, has previously announced its intention to grow with additional hotel projects in Europe. The Company has recently entered into a partnership with Catella Corporate Finance ("Catella") to expand the Boho Club in Europe. As part of the realisation of this growth, the Company has decided to initiate a process to convert the Spanish holding company under which the Boho Club Marbella and Centro Forestal Sueco properties are held into a Spanish Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), also known as SOCIMI. The former CEO of Quartiers, Marcus Johansson Prakt, will be a member of the board of directors of this REIT.
The proposed SOCIMI structure will bring many benefits to the Company. It provides direct and easier access to the Spanish capital market and makes it easier for Spanish and international real estate focused investors to invest directly and exclusively in the property portfolio. The structure also offers tax incentives, making it an optimal vehicle for operating and developing a profitable property portfolio in Spain.
"Marcus brings with him over 10 years' experience in hotel real estate and finance, as well as an extensive network of contacts in Spain. His contribution to the business will focus on investment and strategic planning for value creation initiatives in the property portfolio. We are very pleased that he will be able to participate in the expansion plan that lies ahead," commented Andreas Bonnier, CEO of Quartiers.
"Quartiers is only at the beginning of its development. The work of the last few years has built a strong team and internal expertise, which it is now time to harvest. It is therefore an honour for me to continue to be part of this company. I am particularly looking forward to continuing to work on real estate-related strategy development and contributing to the exploitation of synergies between our real estate portfolio and the operation of our hotel projects to create a strong competitive advantage," says Marcus Johansson Prakt.
Marcus will assume his role as a member of the Board with immediate effect.
