Journalist Lars Borgnäs returns to the crime scene

The assassination of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme did not come by chance. The victim of the fatal shot, fired in a Stockholm street corner at 11.21 pm on February 28, 1986, was by far the most controversial person in Sweden, and many, even highly positioned people within the police, the security services and the military, regarded him as a threat to the country, potentially a traitor.

Journalist Lars Borgnäs, renowned for his television documentaries and books about the murder, is one of the foremost experts on the topic. He now returns to the crime scene and presents - based on witness accounts and technical documentation - a new and highly disturbing picture of what actually happened during Olof Palme´s last seconds prior to the assassination. He also reveals that private circumstances within the Palme family, wich may have been of importance in the case, have been ignored by the investigators; that information about what happened prior to the murder has been kept secret and that Olof Palme and his wife Lisbeth seem to have been heading for a secret, unofficial meeting this late evening - without protection from body guards - when they fell into a deadly trap.

Who arranged the murder, and why? It is revealed in this book that the leading murder investigator within the Stockholm police department, now dead, secretly suspected a conspiracy against Olof Palme, involving highly positioned representatives of a state authority. The author, having been granted exclusive access to the investigator´s diary notes, in this book presents its intriguing thoughts and conclusions,

The book´s foreword is written by novelist Lena Andersson.
