Boliden Appoints Thomas Cederborg as President and Chief Executive Officer Toronto, Canada and Stockholm, Sweden (December 6, 2000). Boliden Limited today announced that Thomas Cederborg has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of the Company. Mr. Cederborg, a Swedish national, has over 20 years of Swedish and international industrial manufacturing experience. He joined Boliden in 1996 and has had responsibility for Boliden's fabrication and smelting operations, including the recently completed, successful Rönnskär +200 expansion project. Since July 2000, Mr. Cederborg has been Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company involved in all aspects of Boliden's business and operations. In announcing Mr. Cederborg's appointment, Boliden Chairman, Fred Telmer, stated: "Thomas has the capabilities and experience to lead the Company in its program to restore its financial and operating strength". Boliden is engaged in the mining, processing and sale of metals and mineral products, primarily copper and zinc, with mining and milling operations in Canada, Chile and Sweden and smelting operations in Sweden and Norway. The Company's shares trade on the Toronto and Stockholm stock exchanges. Mr. Cederborg will be located in Boliden's Stockholm corporate office.
