Bonava has signed an agreement to acquire approximately 370 building rights for multi-family housing in Umeå from Motorcentralen. The final purchase price is based on the planned area for housing units and will be paid in conjunction with the zoning plan entering force, on a preliminary basis, in late 2023. The start of construction is planned for 2024.

– Bonava has a strong position in Umeå and positive experiences of operating in the municipality. This large land acquisition is in a very attractive location and further strengthens our position, says Fredrik Hemborg, Business Unit President, Bonava Sweden.

In Umeå and in the attractive Haga area, Bonava will convert land that is currently the site of an automotive dealership into a new residential district just one kilometer away from central Umeå. The future neighbourhood is located close to an open-air recreation area, public transportation, schools, retail stores and the pulse of the city.

Bonava is currently involved in the development of the Tomtebo gård residential area, where the company will build approximately 450 housing units, both tenant-owned apartments and rental apartments, in phases by 2024.
