Bonava sells 42 rental apartments in Berlin

Bonava is selling 42 rental apartments to the property company Hemsö Fastighets AB in Berlin, Germany. The housing units are part of a retirement home project and are expected to be recognised in profit and transferred to the customer in the first quarter of 2021.

- Considering demographic trends, with more seniors in need of affordable housing, we’re pleased that our first transaction with Hemsö in Germany is creating a residential concept for seniors, says Joachim Hallengren, President and CEO, Bonava.

There is substantial demand in the German market, where an estimated 400,000 new housing units need to be built each year over the next ten years. In the spring, Bonava was named Germany’s most active housing developer for the seventh consecutive year according to the market location and analysis company bulwiengesa.
