Bonava sells 56 rental apartments in Schönefeld, Germany
Bonava is selling 56 rental apartments to the Bewag pension fund in Schönefeld, Germany. The housing units are expected to be recognised in profit and transferred to the customer in the third quarter of 2021. Bonava has already completed around 500 housing units in the area and is currently planning for a further 300.
- It is gratifying to present the eighth joint transaction we have conducted with Bewag, and the second partnership in the newly developed residential area in Schönefeld. Long-term relationships are important for us, says Joachim Hallengren, CEO and President, Bonava.
The rental apartments, in the centre of Schönefeld, constitute the seventh construction phase of the extensive new residential area around Bayangol Park. Production is expected to start in the first quarter of 2020.
There is a substantial demand in the German market, where an estimated 400,000 new housing units need to be built each year for the next ten years. In the spring, Bonava was named Germany’s most active housing developer for the seventh consecutive year according to the market location and analysis company bulwiengesa.
