Bonava sells project with 128 rental apartments in Berlin
Bonava sells and starts production of 128 subsidised rental apartments in Berlin, Germany, to the public company Gesobau AG. The project generates a positive cash flow from start. The apartments are expected to be handed over to the customer at the end of 2026.
– Berlin is growing and 20,000 new homes need to be built every year. Bonava is Berlin's largest residential developer and we are excited to start construction on this new neighborhood in the eastern parts of Berlin. Here we are now selling and starting a rental project, but over time we will also build homes for consumers, says Sabine Helterhoff, Business Unit President, Bonava Germany.
In this new neighbourhood, Bonava is building the 128 apartments in four apartment buildings along Hellersdorfer Strasse in the Hellersdorf district. All apartments will be built as subsidised apartments in accordance with the guidelines of the Berlin state housing subsidy scheme.
The rental project is the first phase of the new ‘Cecilien-Carré’ residential neighbourhood being developed by Bonava. On more than 10,000 square metres, a neighbourhood is being built for a total of 272 homes with mixed tenures. By mid-2028, eight apartment buildings will be positioned like a square around a common courtyard.
