Veteran driver working to impress in the Formula Car Challenge

SONOMA, Calif. – The Bondurant Championship Race Series looks to expand its presence in the world of open wheel racing this weekend as it supports Jamie Slone in the Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear, August 20-22, at Infineon Raceway.

Slone, the runner-up in the 2009-2010 Bondurant Championship Race Series, will campaign his Formula Mazda with a primary sponsorship from GoPro, and additional support from the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. He led the inaugural Bondurant Championship Race Series for the majority of the season on his way to fifteen podium finishes and five wins. He finished tied in points with Neil Alberico, who won the overall championship based on more wins.

In addition to his experience racing open wheel cars with the Bondurant Championship, Slone also has extensive sports car experience: he finished second in the Mustang Challenge series in 2008, while earning five podium spots and a win at Mid-Ohio. He looks forward to continued success in the Formula Car Challenge, which will run concurrently with the IZOD IndyCar® Series Grand Prix of Sonoma at Infineon Raceway.

“I am no stranger to Infineon, having raced there countless times,” said Slone. “But to go back for IndyCar weekend while representing Bondurant is a huge honor. We’ll be sure to capture all the action with several GoPro HD cameras on the car.”

“Jamie is a fierce competitor, and was instrumental to the success of this year’s Bondurant Championship,” said Alan Rudolph, Series Director, Bondurant Championship Race Series. “We’re confident that he’ll bring his usual dedication and intensity to the race in Sonoma and do everything he can to shine on the big stage.”

“It’s great to know that a car with Bondurant decals will be returning to my old stomping grounds at Infineon Raceway,” said Bob Bondurant, CEO and Founder, Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. “The car looks fantastic, and I wish Jamie the best of luck for continued success in his racing career.”
