‘THE GAME OF BOOKS’ REACHES HOMESTRETCH OF KICKSTARTERFUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
The Game of Books’ announces 95 percent of campaign goal funded with 24 hours to go
BOISE, Idaho — December 16, 2012 — With just 22 hours left to reach the $102,364 Kickstater fundraising goal, The Game of Books is asking for your support in closing the last five percent before 3:00 p.m. EST, Monday, December 17, 2012.
The Game of Books has just under 1,000 backers who have raised over $97,000, 60 percent of that in just the last week. Literary icons have been supportive of the project, such as; Patrick Rothfuss, #1 New York Times best selling author of The Kingkiller Chronicle; Warren Adler, New York Times bestselling author of The War of The Roses; and New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken, to name a few.
Raising more funds before the December 17 deadline is crucial in fulfilling the development of The Game of Books, a new interactive reading project and mobile app. The Game has been referred to as "Foursquare for books”, as the game rewards readers with points and badges for the worlds and themes they find in the books they read.
“Thank you so much for all of your support thus far. The Game of Books is only possible because of you and this is a result of everyone coming together for a common cause and interest. We are so close... one last 'SHARE' from each of our 1,000 backers should get us to the finish line,” said Aaron Stanton, founder and CEO of BookLamp.org, company powering The Game.

Powered by the BookLamp.org ‘Book Genome’ technology, The Game of Books challenges readers to complete literary “Journeys” - earning badges and reading levels based on their reading preferences. Played with both physical game pieces - such as bookmarks and game cards - and a mobile application that allows readers to scan the barcode of a book to see what badges it contains, The Game of Books engages readers by turning the discovery process into an exploratory adventure and a modern-day treasure hunt in their local libraries.

About BookLamp
BookLamp is a publishing technology company powered by the Book Genome Project, which uses the DNA of language to explore the world of books. BookLamp uses computer-based modeling to compare books and manuscripts based on their thematic makeup, character prevalence, and language elements. This provides fingerprinting and "place in the universe" information for authors, trend and market targeting for publishers, and the next generation of book discovery for readers. We aim to be the best in the world at applying science to the written word, to share the knowledge we gain from that passion, and to be an ally to publishers in an industry where technology has been a double-edged sword. Connect with us digitally at Facebook.com/BookLamp, Twitter.com/BookLamp, or BookLamp.org.
