Altria Group has donated $100,000 to Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and Veteran Wellness, the nation’s first permanent and private rural retreat for wounded U.S. military, veterans and their families. This gift is the second $100,000 contribution from Altria and will support family stays and recreational and therapeutic activities at the new 37-acre retreat that are provided at no cost to guests.

“Boulder Crest Retreat provides a special place for wounded veterans and their families to heal and reconnect,” said Immanuel Sutherland, Altria Client Services, Sr. Specialist, Corporate Contributions. “Altria and its family of companies are proud to support Boulder Crest Retreat’s mission to help America’s military members, veterans and their families recover from visible and invisible wounds of war. We are very pleased to contribute again to this worthy organization.”

Boulder Crest Retreat is the first-of-its kind, permanent and private rural retreat that provides free accommodations and recreational and therapeutic activities and programs to help wounded military service members, veterans and their families reconnect and recover. The 37-acre retreat opened in September 2013 and is located in Bluemont, Va., just 50 miles outside of Washington, D.C. The retreat also hosts group retreats and life skills programs and workshops.

“We are extremely grateful to Altria for this very generous donation and their continued support of Boulder Crest Retreat,” said Ken Falke, founder of Boulder Crest Retreat. “It is only through the generosity of others that we are able to serve and give back to those who have served and sacrificed so much for our freedom.”

Boulder Crest Retreat is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that is entirely funded entirely by private donations by individuals and organizations from around the country. For more information about the retreat, please visit www.bouldercrestretreat.org.
