Melbourne, Australia. – The low-cost online travel website Bravofly looks set to delight tennis fans Down Under looking for cheap flights to the 2015 Australian Open.

The tournament is expected to draw in spectators from all over Australia with some of the biggest names in the world of tennis vying for glory.

The Rod Laver Arena and the Hisense Arena will again provide the backdrop to the event. Both stadiums have retractable roofs to ensure that spectators and players don’t suffer from any adverse weather conditions.

Last year’s electrifying final saw Stanislaw Warwinka get the better of bookies’ favourite Rafael Nadal in a thrilling encounter over four sets.

The current hot favourite, Novak Djokovic, looks set to take some stopping in the men’s singles this time round. Before Warwinka’s victory in 2014, the Serb was the three-time defending champion.

Li Na was the winner of the 2014 women’s singles event before announcing her retirement shortly after. Na saw off Slovak Dominika Cibulkova over two sets to end her career on a high.

A spokesman for Bravofly said: “This greater demand for cost-effective travel around Australia shows no sign of abating with the Aussie Open just around the corner.

“This is a huge sporting event that never disappoints. After the excitement of last year’s Open and given the popularity of the Grand Slam, we expect to see an increase in demand for flights to Melbourne come January.”

Return flights from Brisbane to Melbourne from 18 January to 02 February start at $226, whilst flights from Sydney to Melbourne over the same period start at $107. This contrasts with $361 from Perth and $153 from Adelaide over the same time.

The spokesman continued: “2015 marks the 99thanniversary of the first tournament. Out of the four Grand Slams, it’s second only to the US Open in terms of the number of spectators it attracts.

“The prospect of seeing the biggest stars in the game battle it out in Melbourne is one that many Aussies won’t want to miss.”
