Join the Great South Run to beat breast cancer Breast Cancer Campaign is urging all runners in the South to lace up their running shoes and take on the Bupa Great South Run while supporting vital research into breast cancer. As 30,000 runners are set to speed off from the starting line at Sunday’s Great North Run the charity wants you to take up a similar challenge in the South and has places available on its running team for the 10 mile race in Portsmouth on Sunday 24 October. Julia Petrukhina, Events Assistant for Breast Cancer Campaign, said: “We’re delighted that so many supporters are running the Great North Run for us and now we’re hoping more runners in the South will join our team and continue the race to beat breast cancer.
