Take on ultimate charity trek now Football fever has taken the world by storm and South Africa has never been more in the spotlight. So if the excitement of the games and sound of the vuvuzelas has left you with an urge to explore this diverse nation for yourself then Breast Cancer Campaign has the answer. The charity is calling on adventurers from across the UK to sign up to its Cederberg and Table Mountain trek in South Africa for their chance to experience the challenge of a lifetime. The trek runs from 29 Oct – 7 Nov (registration required end of July) and is the perfect way to explore this stunning and iconic country while raising funds to beat breast cancer. The trek takes participants through the country’s scenic landscapes as you hike through the Cederberg Wilderness Area, exploring the beautiful colours of the natural rock formations and the crystal clear streams as you go. This challenge is not to be underestimated however as each day will be spent trekking an average distance of 14km across multi-terrain before ending at the infamous Table Mountain, overlooking Cape Town. Kelly Walton, Breast Cancer Campaign’s Events Executive, said “The world has gone South Africa crazy, so now is the perfect time to sign up to your own African adventure in support of Breast Cancer Campaign. This trek has it all, from soaking up the beautiful scenery and wildlife to experiencing the cultural highlights of Cape Town. So if you’re looking to take on the challenge of a lifetime this is the one for you – your support is vital to help us continue funding world-class breast cancer research.” For more information about Campaign’s Cederberg and Table Mountain trek, or for details about any other overseas challenge event, please call 020 7749 3700, email treks@breastcancercampaign.org or visit our website breastcancercampaign.org ENDS Notes to editors • Breast Cancer Campaign aims to beat breast cancer by funding innovative world-class research to understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure • Currently it supports 112 research projects, worth almost £17 million, in 40 centres of excellence across the UK and Ireland • Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and accounts for nearly one in three of all cancers in women • In the UK, nearly 46,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year - that’s 125 a day • Visit www.breastcancercampaign.org • Read Chief Executive Pamela Goldberg’s blog http://pamelagoldbergblog.blogspot.com/
