Up to 1,000 participants will cycle 100km on Saturday 11 June 2011, taking in over 50 of the capitals most famous landmarks such as Big Ben, Buckingham, Palace, Westminster Abbey, The London Eye and Downing Street while the city sleeps. The course will start and end at Crystal Palace, with cyclists taking to the streets from 10:30pm and finishing up from 6am, in time for a well deserved breakfast, after watching the sunrise over London. The 100km cycle is perfect for anyone who is prepared to train to meet the challenge. There will be plenty of stops along the way to refuel with water and snacks and admire the view, before hopping back on the bike to continue to course. Kelly Walton, Breast Cancer Campaign’s Events Executive, said: “Whether you want to take part to see the sights by night or set yourself a cycle challenge, this could be the perfect event for you. Not only will you be taking on this unique cycle overnight with 1,000 people, you will also be helping to raise money for research into breast cancer.” A registration fee of £25 is required to sign up and participants will be asked to raise a minimum sponsorship of £175.
