Press Release For immediate release: Press contact: Marilena Patuto, Media Relations Officer, Breast Cancer Campaign, DD 0207 749 3720, Email mpatuto@breastcancercampaign.org Staff at the Suites Hotel in Knowsley have raised just under £14,000 to help beat breast cancer thanks to the success of their second annual Pink Party. Headed up by General Manager Lesley Watson, a team of colleagues at the hotel organised the event last week (Friday 8 October), which included a three-course dinner, disco, raffle, silent auction and tombola. Over 220 people attended the event in support of Breast Cancer Campaign, and had the chance to bid for or win 300 different items, thanks to the generous donations from staff at the hotel and local businesses. Lesley Watson held the Pink Party in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign after her mother Mary had breast cancer 12 years ago, and also to support other friends and family affected by this disease. Lesley said: “Raising money to help fund breast cancer research is a cause very close to my heart and I was thrilled by the generosity of all those who attended. We aimed to beat last year’s fundraising target but are stunned that we have nearly doubled the amount this year!” Angela Adams, Breast Cancer Campaign: “The total amount raised is amazing, and is testament to the hard work staff at the Suites Hotel put in to make the evening a success. With two Pink Parties under their belt, they have managed to raise just under £22,000 for Breast Cancer Campaign, which will help us fund world-class research into breast cancer.” Last year, the Suites Hotel Pink Party raised £8000 for Breast Cancer Campaign. The exact amount raised this year was £13, 926.21.
