The Olympic running champion has teamed up with Breast Cancer Campaign to captain the Linford’s All Stars team and offer supporters vital training advice to help them achieve their ultimate sporting goal. So if you would like to run 13.1 miles in Newcastle on Sunday 19 September why not become a Linford’s All Star and run for breast cancer research? Linford said: “I’m so proud to be the Captain of Linford’s All Stars. This is your chance to join my team, get fit with the charity’s fantastic sporting programme and raise funds for vital breast cancer research. I’m here to help you with your training by offering helpful tips, loads of motivation and even a bit of tough love if you need it.” On the day 54,000 runners will speed off from the starting line and Campaign needs you to run and raise money for vital research to support the 300 men who are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK each year. Events Executive, Karen Lambert, added: “At last year’s event over 300 runners wore their pink Campaign running vests with pride and raised more than £160,000 to help us continue our mission to beat breast cancer. This year we’re hoping more runners will join our team so please sign up and show your support, as it’s not just women who can get breast cancer.” Campaign has 200 charity places available on its team so if you would like to run for research, or if you have your own place through the ballot and would like to run for Campaign, please call the events team on 020 7749 3700 or email greatnorthrun@breastcancercampaign.org before 9 July.
