With just over one month to go before race day, the charity wants runners who have already secured their own guaranteed place in the race to join our team. By being a part of Breast Cancer Campaign’s team you will help raise money for world-class research and help support the 46,000 people who will sadly be diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK in 2011. Julia Petrukhina, Events Assistant at Breast Cancer Campaign, said: “It’s a devastating fact that around 12,000 people in the UK will die from breast cancer this year, so it’s vital we keep funding research into this disease to help benefit all those affected. If you are already in training for the Silverstone Half Marathon and have not yet chosen a charity to raise money for, please show your support to Campaign and help us take a step closer to beating breast cancer.” Every runner who raises money for Breast Cancer Campaign will automatically become a member of the charity’s exclusive club Linford’s All Stars. As an All Stars runner, you will receive a professional running vest and information pack crammed with training and nutritional advice from the team’s captain Linford Christie.
