The event will take place on Friday 11 June at Centro Style Bar, Liverpool One, from 8pm – 2am. The show will take on a ‘Freak Show’ theme and over seven of the hottest designers in Liverpool will take part to showcase their latest designs, including Roxie O’del Couture Roc, Flashback Boutique, Nikis Dresses and Rock ‘N’ Rose Boudoir. The evening will also include live performances from band The Fretz and Roxie O’del, along with performances from a dance troupe and music from DJ’s Sean Orrell and The Funk Brothers. The event is being organised Lee Orrell, 22, Director of G-Lamorous Presents events company, who was keen to hold a fundraising event in support of Breast Cancer Campaign as several of his close friends family have been affected by the disease. He wanted to find a way to combine Liverpool women’s love for fashion with making them be more breast aware, so he decided to hold a fashion show in support of the charity to help raise vital funds for breast cancer research. Lee said “After several close friends family members were diagnosed with breast cancer I decided to do some research into the disease. I just didn’t understand how so many women were affected and was shocked that over 46,000 people are diagnosed every year in the UK. I couldn’t help thinking that all though there are so many awareness campaigns going on all the time, people are still not letting the information sink in that they should be regularly checking themselves for anything unusual. “I wanted to help make women become breast aware so decided to hold the fashion show in the hope that a fun-filled night will make the serious messages hit home a little more and hopefully we’ll raise lots of money to help Breast Cancer Campaign beat this disease.” Lee is hoping the event will raise over £5,000 to help Breast Cancer Campaign continue funding innovative world-class research. Tickets for the show are £7.50 each and can be purchased from Centro style Bar and Roxie O’del Couture, Walton, or by calling 07889 749 834. Anyone can hold a fundraising event for Campaign, no matter how large or small.
