Darragh and his two sisters, Niamh and Caoimhe, will join 54,000 runners on the starting line for the 13.1 mile race in Newcastle on Sunday 19 September to support their two aunts who are currently receiving treatment for breast cancer. Darragh said: “I’m excited about taking part in this race with my sisters and raising money for a very worthwhile cause. I hope lots of people will dig deep to sponsor us on our running challenge and help the charity take a step closer to beating breast cancer.” Niamh said: “We are looking forward to running together as a family to do our part for cancer research funding for this important cause which is very close to our hearts. The training has been hard work but the support before and during the event will definitely help us through” Caoimhe added: “I’m looking forward to the famous Great North Run atmosphere and I hope we can raise lots of money to help find the cure for breast cancer and to speed us towards the finish line together.” To help them reach their fundraising target of £1000 please visit www.justgiving.com/mccullaghs and donate what you can.
