The duo will join 54,000 runners on the starting line for the 13.1 mile race in Newcastle on Sunday 19 September in memory of Andrew’s mother who sadly passed away from breast cancer in November 2009. Andrew said: “Over the last four years my mum Chris Overfield bravely fought breast cancer twice but sadly lost her battle last November despite fighting right till the end. I want to run this race for her and all the other thousands of women that will be diagnosed with this disease in the UK this year, and just raise as much money as we can to help support this fantastic charity to fund their great work towards finding a cure to this disease.” Jake added: “I’m also running as a tribute to Andrew’s mum. She was very close to both my mum and my family. I’m now inspired to run for Breast Cancer Campaign and help fund their research so hopefully one day there will be a cure.” To help Andrew and Jake reach their fundraising target of £750 please visit www.justgiving.com/Andy-Overfield and donate what you can.
