Phil Quinlan from Broughty Ferry, Dundee is holding his charity night at the Envy room in Liquid Nightclub in Dundee on Friday 29 October, which is the charity’s national wear it pink day. On the night, partygoers are encouraged to wear a wacky pink outfit and there will be a prize for the best dressed clubber. Entry to the party is £5 to be paid on the door and all proceeds will go towards Phil’s fundraising for his Mount Kilimanjaro trek for Breast Cancer Campaign in October 2011. For more information please call Phil on 07912 787168. Phil will join the trek for Campaign to support the 46,000 people who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK each year. He said: “We’re hoping to raise up to £2,500 from our fundraising night so I hope lots of locals in Dundee will come down and take part for this very worthwhile cause. It should be a really fun night with music and dancing, and hopefully lots of pink, so please grab your friends and party with us while supporting breast cancer research.” For more information about Campaign’s Mount Kilimanjaro Summit Climb or any other overseas challenge, please contact the events team on 020 7749 4114, email treks@breastcancercampaign.org or visit our website www.breastcancercampaign.org ENDS Picture caption: Phil Quinlan climbing Ben Nevis Notes to editors • Breast Cancer Campaign aims to beat breast cancer by funding innovative world-class research to understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure • Currently it supports 104 research projects, worth over £16.1 million, in 38 centres of excellence across the UK and Ireland • Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and accounts for nearly one in three of all cancers in women • In the UK, nearly 46,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year - that’s 125 a day • Visit www.breastcancercampaign.org • Read Chief Executive Pamela Goldberg’s blog http://pamelagoldbergblog.blogspot.com/
