The nurse at Breathing Space, Rotherham will join 54,000 runners on the starting line for the 13.1 mile race in Newcastle this Sunday (19 September) in memory of her grandmother and her mother’s close friend Linda Pickersgill who both sadly passed away from breast cancer. Keely said: “Supporting breast cancer research is a cause close to my heart after my grandma and my mum’s best friend passed away from this disease. I also have friends who have suffered with this illness and without the ongoing medical research and advances in diagnostic accuracy and treatment, they would not be here today. Last year 300 Campaign runners wore their pink running vests with pride and raised a whopping £160,000 for vital breast cancer research.
