The retired BT Engineer, 79, will run for Breast Cancer Campaign on Sunday 25 April to support his niece Rebecca who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, aged 41. Fred said: “In my 80th year, I’m looking forward to running the London Marathon with my youngest son John to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign, which helps so many people affected by breast cancer. I feel proud to have raised more than £10,000 from my previous marathon efforts and hope to continue raising more money to fund cancer research.” To help Fred reach his fundraising target of £1,500 please send a donation by cheque made payable to ‘Breast Cancer Campaign’ at Fred’s home address at 576 Preston Old Road, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB2 5NP.
