Press Release For immediate release: XX February 2010 Press contact: Louise Garrahan, Media Relations Officer, Breast Cancer Campaign, DD 0207 749 3724, Email: lgarrahan@breastcancercampaign.org Local runner’s marathon effort to fund breast cancer research Budding runner Sarah Donati-Ford, from St Peter, Jersey, has pulled on her running shoes to train for the Virgin London Marathon in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign. The mother of three will join thousands of runners at the starting line on Sunday 25 April in memory of her close friend Stephanie who sadly passed away from breast cancer in October 2009 aged 34. Sarah said: “Stephanie took up running and had set herself a goal to run the London Marathon in memory of her own mother, who passed away from cancer early last year, despite being diagnosed with breast cancer herself, so I want to take on the challenge on her behalf. I’ll be proud to run as a tribute to my good friend as well as in memory of her mother whilst also supporting the other 45,500 women that will sadly be diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK this year.” To help Sarah reach her fundraising target of £2,000 please visit www.justgiving.com/sarahdonatiford and donate what you can. All money raised will help Campaign’s mission to beat breast cancer by funding innovative world class research into the disease throughout the UK and Ireland. If you have a place in this year’s Virgin London Marathon and would like to join Sarah on Campaign’s running team, please call the Events team on 0207 749 3700 or visit www.breastcancercampaign.org. As a Campaign runner you will automatically become a member of Linford’s All Stars – a new exclusive club captained by Linford Christie, who offers supporters helpful training tips and nutritional advice.
