Press Release For immediate release: 8 February 2010 Press contact: Louise Garrahan, Media Relations Officer, Breast Cancer Campaign, DD 0207 749 3724, Email: lgarrahan@breastcancercampaign.org Local runner’s second marathon effort to fund breast cancer research Budding runner John Sullivan from Southend on Sea, Essex has pulled on his running shoes to train for the Virgin London Marathon in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign. The head of commercial will join thousands of runners at the starting line on Sunday 25 April after his friend Natalie Johnson was successfully treated for breast cancer in 2005. John is also running to support another friend, Shelley Dobson, who lost her mother to the disease seven years ago. It’s the second time John has run for Campaign - last year he finished in five hours and raised £1,500. He said: “I am delighted to be running for Breast Cancer Campaign again. The support from the charity last year was legendary. Prior to the marathon nothing was too much trouble and on the actual day it was such a boost to hear everyone cheering at the various points throughout the course. I’m extremely proud to be running on Campaign’s team for a second time and do my bit to help fund vital breast cancer research.” To help John with his fundraising please visit www.justgiving.com/johnsullivan3 and donate what you can. If you have a place in this year’s Virgin London Marathon and would like to join John on Campaign’s running team, please call the Events team on 0207 749 3700 or visit www.breastcancercampaign.org. As part of the team you will automatically become members of Linford’s All Stars – a new exclusive club captained by Linford Christie, who offers all his supporters helpful training tips and nutritional advice.
