Press Release For immediate release: 23 September 2009 Press contact: Louise Garrahan, Media Relations Officer, Breast Cancer Campaign, DD 0207 749 3724, Email: lgarrahan@breastcancercampaign.org Marie’s Great run in memory of sister Local runner Marie Caddick from Darlington, Co Durham pounded the Newcastle pavements on Sunday (20 September) at the Bupa Great North Run for Breast Cancer Campaign. The Secretary at Braddan Structures Limited joined 57,000 runners for the 13.1 mile race and completed the course in two hours 12 minutes. So far Marie has raised £1,900 to fund breast cancer research and ran the race as a tribute to her sister Helen who sadly died from breast cancer in 2006. She said: “I had a great time taking part in the run and am very proud of my fundraising effort. The atmosphere on the day was fantastic with so many people running for very worthwhile causes.” Every day 125 people in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer, so if you would like to help fund breast cancer research and take part in a running event for Campaign, please call the Events Team on 0207 749 4107 or visit www.breastcancercampaign.org. As well as receiving a fundraising pack with a professional Ronhill vest, all runners will be part of a motivated team dedicated to helping Campaign in their mission to beat breast cancer.
