The Olivier Award-winning actress will host the annual event at London’s Dorchester Hotel on Saturday 9 October for a second year running after she became the Ball’s Patron in 2009. She said: “I’ve known people who have been affected by breast cancer so I’m honoured to be Patron again and continue supporting breast cancer research. Last year’s Ball raised a whopping £165,000 so I hope we can smash that amount this year and help support the 46,000 people who are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK each year.” This year marks the 16th anniversary of the ball and on the night, Martine will be joined by fellow celebrity guests including Liz McClarnon, Ali Bastian, Linda Nolan and Tony Hadley, who will be singing on the night.
