Press release For immediate release: 2 June 2010 Press contact: Katie Power, 020 7749 3720 kpower@breastcancercampaign.org Nottinghamshire angels get ready to march against breast cancer There’s only one week to go until the Edwinstowe Angels Friendship Walk, so if you want to raise money to help beat breast cancer make sure you sign up now! Sherwood Forest will be awash with pink on Sunday 13 June as over 200 people don their fairy wings and take part in the annual walk held in support of Breast Cancer Campaign. We want to make this year even bigger than before so we’re encouraging everyone in Nottinghamshire to take part in the family friendly walk and help us continue funding vital breast cancer research. Walk organiser Julie Hallam said “This is a fun walk and an ideal opportunity to spend a couple of valuable hours catching up with friends and family in our beautiful Sherwood Forest while raising much needed money for Breast Cancer Campaign. “Breast cancer touches the lives of so many people and families across the UK and that’s why I want to get as many people as possible signed up to help the charity beat this disease. The walk isn’t a race and there’s no registration fee. Just turn up, bring your friends and don’t forget your fairy wings!” This year Julie is hoping to raise £7,000 but needs your help, so sign up to take part now and please invite your friends! The walk starts at 10am at the Edwinstowe cricket pavilion and is free to take part however every walker is encouraged to raise a minimum sponsorship of £20. All the money raised from the walk will help fund Drs Martin and Woolston’s research project at the University of Nottingham, which is studying a group of molecules called redox proteins which are thought to help breast cancer cells survive.
