The RBS Focused Women’s Network, who have supported the charity since 2007, raised the fantastic amount by taking part in the charity’s annual wear it pink event. Organised by Focused Women volunteers Jacqui Thomson, Lynne Cox, Kathryn Smith and Jenny Chesham and sponsored by the Focused Women’s Deputy Chair Victoria Spencer, they campaigned across the RBS Group to organise wear it pink events including fancy dress, auctions and cake sales, mobilising staff throughout the company to get involved. They have previously supported wear it pink 2007 and 2008 and they sponsored the charity’s Christmas Carol Service in 2007 and 2008. In total Focused Women have raised over £50,000 for Breast Cancer Campaign. Victoria Spencer and colleague Rachel Adaah from the Focused Women’s management team collected the award on behalf of Focused Women at the charity’s annual House of Lords awards ceremony. Victoria said, “Focused Women are honoured to have won this award in recognition of our fundraising efforts. We are incredibly proud and could not have done it without the dedication of the Focused Women volunteers across the RBS Group. We would like to thank everyone who has taken part in our events. Knowing that we’re helping to fund vital research which could eventually lead to a cure really makes all the time and effort worthwhile.” Pamela Goldberg, Breast Cancer Campaign’s Chief Executive said, “Congratulations to the RBS Focused Women’s Network for winning this prestigious award for their outstanding fundraising. It is thanks to the continued support and commitment from groups like them that we are able to fund innovative world-class research to help us improve the lives of breast cancer patients and beat the disease.” The RBS Focused Women’s Network were honoured at Breast Cancer Campaign’s awards ceremony on 17 June 2010 at the House of Lords.
