Press release For immediate release: 12 January 2010 Press contact: Katie Power, 020 7749 3720 kpower@breastcancercampaign.org Restaurants urged to ‘Give it Pink’ this Mothers Day Breast Cancer Campaign is encouraging restaurants and hotels all across the UK to get into the charity spirit this Mother’s Day (14 March) by taking part in its Give it Pink fundraising scheme. Give it Pink is a new donation initiative where restaurants and hotels simply ask their customers to add an optional £1 donation onto their bill. The scheme offers guests a quick and easy way to fundraise for the charity while treating their beloved mums to a special meal and all the money raised will help Campaign beat breast cancer by funding world-class research. Celebrity chef Kevin Woodford is backing Campaign’s Give it Pink scheme and is encouraging restaurants across the country to get involved. He said “Enjoying the company of those we care about is one of life’s great pleasures. Yet 12,000 mothers, daughters, sisters and friends die from breast cancer each year. So please support Breast Cancer Campaign’s Give it Pink this Mother’s Day to help all the families that are affected by breast cancer. You’ll be giving more than just a gift – you’ll be helping to save a life.” Anyone can take part Give it Pink, so get your restaurant or hotel involved and help Campaign get a step closer to beating breast cancer this Mother’s Day.
