The Business Director will travel to her original hometown of Bath to join her sister Rhona Ascott for the 13.1 mile race on Sunday 6 March in memory of their mother Bridget Hunt who sadly passed away from breast cancer in 1996. Bryony said: “My mum died when I was 19 years old. She had suffered two lots of breast cancer followed by lung cancer and a brain tumour. Every year since her death I have set myself a fundraising challenge to raise money for charities that help save lives of future sufferers and I’m excited to run the Bath Half for Breast Cancer Campaign with my sister. I have previously run the Great North Run, which was a great experience, and I’m determined to pay tribute to my mum in Bath this March. I hope lots of people will sponsor me and help bring the charity a step closer to beating breast cancer.” If you would like to help Bryony reach her fundraising target of £500, please visit http://www.justgiving.com/Bryony-Gibson and donate what you can. This year around 48,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK and sadly approximately 12,000 will die from this disease. So if you have a guaranteed place in this year’s Bath Half Marathon and would like to make a difference to the lives of all those affected by breast cancer, please join Bryony and Rhona on Campaign’s team.
