New Year’s resolutions often fly out of the window before January has even had a chance to get started. So set yourself a goal worth sticking to in 2010 and give yourself the perfect reason to get fit by taking on the challenge of a lifetime for Breast Cancer Campaign. The charity is encouraging brave adventurers to put their new-found resolve for fitness to the test by signing up to conquer the heights of the highest freestanding mountain in the world. The next Kilimanjaro Summit Climb available for Campaign’s challengers runs from 16 – 27 June 2010, so now is your chance to sign up and get training to tackle the impressive 5,895m slopes to help raise vital funds for breast cancer research. Mount Kilimanjaro is one of the largest volcanoes to ever break through the Earth’s crust. This intense adventure sees trekkers tackle every eco-system known to mankind as they ascend across rough terrain and tackle high-altitude conditions in an attempt to reach its summit. Sarah England, Breast Cancer Campaign’s Events Executive, said “The Kilimanjaro Summit Climb may sound tough, but it’s the perfect challenge for anyone looking to beat a personal goal, do something positive and become super fit. But most importantly the money raised will help us continue funding innovative world-class research. So sign up now and help us get a step closer to beating breast cancer.” Registration for the Kilimanjaro Summit Climb is required by 16 March 2010 (other dates are available throughout 2010). Each year hundreds of people sign up to take part in an overseas challenge to help raise funds for Campaign. Events range from trekking the Great Wall of China to cycling to Paris and hiking in Peru, so there is a challenge available for everyone no matter what your interest or level of fitness.
