Top fundraisers and volunteers to be honoured at charity awards

Press release For immediate release: 27 May 2010 Press contact: Faye Golding, 020 7749 4122 fgolding@breastcancercampaign.org Top fundraisers and volunteers to be honoured at charity awards Breast Cancer Campaign will be holding its annual awards reception on 17 June to thank its supporters for their contributions and celebrate the progress made towards beating breast cancer. It will feature speeches from those affected by breast cancer and scientists researching the treatments of the future. Hosted by Baroness Fookes, the winners of Breast Cancer Campaign’s Fundraising and Volunteer Awards will be announced to publicly recognise the amazing achievements of these individuals and groups over the past year. The award categories are: Fundraiser of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Regional Group of the Year, Outstanding Contribution, School of the Year, and RAG Fundraiser of the Year. In addition, Dr Sue Eccles, Chair of Campaign’s Scientific Advisory Board, will be presenting the annual Scientific Research Team of the Year award. Pamela Goldberg, Breast Cancer Campaign’s Chief Executive said, “Our awards ceremony publicly recognises the amazing achievements and contributions by our fundraisers and supporters over the last 12 months towards Breast Cancer Campaign’s research. Their support is essential to helping us achieve our mission of beating the disease and I wish everyone who has been nominated the best of luck.” The winners will be announced at Breast Cancer Campaign’s awards ceremony on 17 June 2010 at the House of Lords.
