The housewife ran for research after her mother and sister both had breast cancer and to support three other friends affected by the disease. On the day she completed the 13.1 mile race in Newcastle in 2 hours and 26 minutes. Victoria said: “I wanted to get fit and run a half marathon before I reached a certain age and I wanted a worthwhile reason and a goal, so raising money for a breast cancer charity seemed the answer. I enjoyed taking part on Sunday and the atmosphere was amazing with so many people running for very special causes close to their hearts. I found it a challenge but one that I was very proud to complete. My husband nearly missed the photo opportunity because he was busy looking the other way at the Red Arrows!” Victoria has so far raised £698 in sponsorship from family and friends and is still keen to raise more, so if you would like to sponsor her and help fund breast cancer research, please visit www.justgiving.com/Vicky-Running and donate what you can.
