Having made a full recovery she was inspired to take part in Breast Cancer Campaign’s wear it pink day on Friday 30 October, raising a staggering amount for breast cancer research. Assistant Manager at The Throckmorton Arms in Coughton near Alcester, Beccy rallied round local businesses to help make her pink pub evening a huge success. People within the community were extremely generous and donated spectacular prizes for the raffle on the night. Top prizes included a helicopter flight donated by Beoley Mill Software and a golf day donated by Stratford-on-Avon Golf Club. Other activities at the pub included a pink themed fancy dress night complete with a performance by rock band ‘F4’ who also dressed from head-to-toe in pink. Last year over one and a half million people took part in wear it pink raising a staggering £3.5 million for breast cancer research to help improve survival rates for the one in nine women who experience breast cancer during their lifetime. Beccy Dawson, Assistant Manager at The Throckmorton Arms said, “I am pleased that our wear it pink event was such a big success, raising over £1,284 to enable vital research to continue. Breast Cancer Campaign is a cause close to my heart and we really wanted to help make a difference.” Rebecca Guy, wear it pink Events Manager said; “Some 46,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer every year.
