The colourful Halloween evening, being held at the Weaver’s Pub in Barnet, will have entertainment throughout the night, including an X-Factor style singing contest, test your knowledge games and the chance to win one of many raffle prizes. Petal Knee, a local resident who organised the event, hopes to raise more than £1000 for Breast Cancer Campaign over the course of the evening. She said: “Breast cancer is something that affects so many people and families every single year and so I am happy to do my bit to help. To you a pound might just be change, but to breast cancer sufferers it can change lives. The money raised will help Breast Cancer Campaign beat breast cancer by funding research in to the disease.” The event starts at 8pm and is free to attend, but those wearing pink are asked to donate £1 to the charity. There will also be other opportunities to donate £1 throughout the night by taking part in the various events, which will help Petal reach her £1000 target. The pink-themed evening follows wear it pink on Friday 29 October, where people all over the UK will be wearing pink to mark the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and help fund Breast Cancer Campaign’s vital research. Schools, colleges and businesses throughout the country are encouraged to wear it pink in support of Campaign and donate £2 each to fund innovative world-class breast cancer research.
