The company remains based in Runcorn but has moved into a head office three times larger than its previous location. Managing director Gethin Roberts said the move reflected the company’s ambitions for future growth and the new headquarters supports all areas of the business. “We’ve come through the recession strongly and are growing week on week,” he said. “We recognised that we needed to move to another premises as we expanded but wanted to stay in Runcorn. Space was the biggest issue because we were running out of room at our old offices. The new headquarters also supports everything we want to do, including housing our new franchising arm and training facilities which is essential in helping us drive the business forward.” Drivers Direct was set up in 2002 and specialises in the recruitment and placement of temporary and permanent drivers of all classes. It employs 28 staff and has branches in Runcorn, Nuneaton, Northampton, Feltham, Sutton, Preston and Eastleigh. It has been listed as a Fast 50 company in the recruitment sector for the last two years. The company has developed remote transport management and training services and to date, has put over 1000 drivers through NVQ training. It has also has just unveiled its latest franchise in Kent and is also on the brink of launching a new franchise in Leicester as part of its campaign to grow the business.
