NEWS Release date: 17th March 2010 Equator delivers new HR management tools K3 Business Technology Group (K3) has updated its advanced Equator human resource management system for the new Tax Year. The software has all the new statutory HMRC requirements and an enhanced workforce redundancy management feature. This latest Equator release also has additions to the innovative graphical “in/ out” board such as automatic refresh and a web-based sickness absence reporting feature that employees can access from home. Plus, the enhanced event management feature integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Office Outlook to send automatic email updates to members of staff. This allows a range of functions to be automated, such as training/qualification renewals, holiday bookings – including the ability for management to over-ride holiday allocation to allow staff more days off if required, and a slicker workflow for creating events. The graphical in/ out board gives managers an instant picture of who is on site, now including who is working, those on site but on a break, and who should be in but is absent. This live unobtrusive view of the workforce makes it much easier for management to concentrate on their key responsibilities, while keeping an eye on personnel and productive staff levels. With this version of Equator, K3 has implemented HR management tools that make it easier and fairer to deal with redundancy. The system integrates with Payroll to identify salaries and benefits and highlight employees at risk. The system incorporates a Ready Reckoner function to calculate statutory redundancy payments. It also enables management to define criteria for redundancy selection. These new features mean the HR department can apply logic and accuracy to dealing with the difficult and emotive nature of redundancy. In keeping with all Equator upgrades, customers simply have to insert the upgrade disk and follow the on-screen prompts for easy installation. This updates the server-based system and as users log onto Equator, the system prompts them to update the Equator client running on their PCs. “This update of our powerful, user-friendly Equator HR system demonstrates that we listen to our customers, fine tuning the features and functionality of the solution to bring them the tools they need to manage professional HR departments. Naturally, we update the system to include the annual revisions that HMRC requires, but we also take the opportunity to refresh some of the tried and trusted features of the system,” says Kevin O’Donnell, HR Development Director, K3 Business Technology Group. “The revised in/out board for instance is an innovative way to give managers an instant snapshot view of staff and the new sickness reporting function allows individuals to update their availability for work over the web. We have also worked hard to enhance the system to help HR professionals deal with the difficult issue of redundancy and the system provides them with all the data they need at their fingertips. This allows them to deal fairly, logically and accurately with any decision they have to make.” - Ends - About K3 Business Technology Group K3 Business Technology Group employs 80 people at its Manchester head office and its branches throughout the UK and Ireland.
