NEWS Release Date: 17th March 2010 Nea Anchialos Airport set to benefit from new Logan Teleflex baggage handling solution Nea Anchialos Airport (VOL) - the international Airport of Central Greece – has awarded Logan Teleflex a EURO 0.5 million contract for a baggage handling system (BHS). The baggage system is due for completion in March 2010 and will significantly improve customer services for passengers. The airport is experiencing growth and is in the process of upgrading its facilities as it experiences growing numbers of passengers. The Logan Teleflex BHS includes eight two stage check-in positions feeding a single transportation line with redundancy provided by an adjacent out of gauge (OOG) baggage line. Both departure baggage handling lines have been designed and installed to be 100% HBS ready for future development. Flat carousels are used for manual flight make-up with OOG baggage being transported by a dedicated line. Arrivals baggage will be manually loaded onto one of two flat carousels in the arrivals area. “The new Logan Teleflex system for Nea Anchialos Airport provides a futureproof investment for the authority as air travel grows in this area of Greece.
