As the launch approaches
As Brighter stands ready to launch its patented product, the need for an updated organisation with the ability to meet market expectations has become apparent. The most notable change is taking place on the board of directors. Efficiency and competence have been the leading criteria in selecting those who will manage the development of the company during this expansive process.
“We move from “60% men to 60% women” on the board of directors. When recruiting new board members we wanted the very best, aiming for a knowledgeable, dedicated and qualified board of directors – one that could lead Brighter into the future. And the best is what we found: Afsaneh Ghatan Bauer, with her own law firm and international involvement, is our intellectual property and patent expert. Petra Kaur-Ljungman is immensely experienced within the fields of brand development and marketing, particularly within the medical sector. Sara Murby Forste is an expert in organisational development, with experience from the Telecom industry, among others”, says Truls Sjöstedt, CEO.
Reinforced management as the company expands
As the company embarks on this expansive journey, Truls Sjöstedt - CEO, founder and owner - has chosen to give up his place on the board of directors in order to focus on long-term, strategic leadership. Henrik Norström is also resigning from the board but will stay on in his role as COO, continuing to lead the company in areas of production, branding, marketing and sales.
“With the above in mind, and in consultation with Rubin Medical, we have made a strategic decision to conduct the initial launch in Sweden ourselves. The importance of direct contact with clients as well as the newly strengthened organisation of the company, have been defining factors in making this decision. We are conducting discussions regarding the other Nordic markets”, says Truls Sjöstedt.
The certification process is underway
“We’ve received some inquires with regards to the status of the CE Mark approval and would therefore like to make a clarifying statement”, says Henrik Norström.
The certification process consists of two stages: the ISO-certification of Brighter as a company and the CE marking of the actual product. Both of these processes are simultaneously ongoing until a certain number of products are produced and can be tested for quality. The launch schedule given in the Offering Memorandum was incomplete, which is unfortunate. Individual milestones on the timeline do not necessarily affect others. The final approval is the most essential part, and our product is expected to launch as planned during the second half of 2014.
