Brighter is currently participating in GITEX Tech Week in Dubai alongside Ericsson, a Brighter partner since 2015. During the event, Brighter’s CEO Henrik Norström will introduce Actiste – the world’s most cutting-edge and innovative diabetes monitoring and treatment service – and announce that Brighter is now officially ready to deliver Actiste® Diabetes Management as a Service in UAE and the wider GCC region.

The event follows the announcement of the two EC certificates (CE marks) that Actiste® received recently from the European Notified Body TÜV Rheinland.

Brighter is currently registering Actiste with the national authorities in the UAE as part of its commercial roll-out. In line with the company’s market introduction process, Brighter and its partners, conducts User Experience Pilots to fine tune adaption for the local market.

“As communicated in January, our first launch is with the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention. The UAE is at the forefront of digital health implementation, as part of the Ministry’s strategic plan 2017-2021. Our presence in the UAE will also allow us to build additional reach to more patients in the region,” says Henrik Norström, CEO Brighter.

The total number of people living with diabetes in the UAE is currently 1.2 million according to The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) of which approximately 480.000 are insulin-dependent and could benefit from Brighter’s Actiste service.

“Today we are witnessing an important milestone and we are seeing a good example of how connectivity can transform people’s lives to the better. Our global partnership with Brighter has now reached a stage of real deliveries to the market, utilizing the global connectivity service based on our IoT Accelerator. We are proud to be part of enhancing the HealthCare industry in UAE and improving quality of life for the patients,” says Fadi Pharaon, President of Ericsson Middle East and Africa.

Ericsson IoT Accelerator is a trusted and easy-to-use IoT platform, providing global connectivity and device management.

“By partnering with Ericsson, we are able to offer a truly seamless customer experience. No matter where in the world patients decide to go, their generated health and treatment data will always be securely stored and available to improve treatments,” says Henrik Norström.
