Brighter AB (Publ) (The Company) today announces that it has signed an agreement with the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. The NHS is the National Health Service in the United Kingdom and the agreement covers a funded-research study with Actiste® Diabetes Management as a Service (ADMS) in the city of Salford.

Brighter has received approval for the study from the West Midlands - Black Country Research Ethics Committee and HRA and Health and Care Research Wales (HCRW). The signing of the agreement is the next step forward for the project.

Research projects of this kind are important for Brighter in order to move forward in publicly claiming the benefits that Actiste brings to people with diabetes. The UK study is a high-level clinical-research project that the company hopes will confirm scientifically relevant insights about the many levels of benefits that Actiste can provide for the management of both type 1 and type 2 insulin-treated diabetes. The gathered research data will be shared with the diabetes scientific community, front-line care providers, patients, health-insurance companies, and partners.

”Brighter has already finalised one pilot project in Sweden and an analysis of the results has been published. This agreement is another great milestone for the company, as the data-generation process is one of the most important steps in building the body of clinical evidence for Actiste,” says Erik Lissner, interim CEO at Brighter AB.

Brighter is planning to continue conducting user-experience projects and clinical-research studies, and believes that the scientific community will continue to take an interest in testing how Actiste may address unmet needs in the management of diabetes.
