Founder files claim against Brighter AB over alleged share lending agreement

Brighter AB (Publ) (The Company) today announced that it has received a claim from its founder and former chairman, Truls Sjöstedt.

Truls Sjöstedt alleges that he has suffered losses of between SEK 4.4 and 5.4 million in relation to Brighter shares that he reportedly lent to Unwrap Finance Nordic AB in late December 2020. The Company is not party to this share lending agreement. However, Sjöstedt alleges that he entered into a separate agreement with Brighter earlier in December 2020 that would prevent Brighter from issuing shares other than to Unwrap before the shares that he lent to Unwrap were returned. He alleges that this agreement was breached.

The Board of Directors has no record of approving or entering into any such agreement with Mr Sjöstedt as he alleges. The Company considers the lawsuit to be entirely spurious and without basis in fact or law. The Company will contest the claim and the facts on which it relies.
