The launch of Brighter One is postponed.

Brighter has, following user feedback, decided to improve the design of the lancet mechanism and lid on its first product “Brighter One”. As a consequence, the product launch will be postponed to March 2015.

Brighter has developed a unique and patented integrated method for simplifying self-care of diabetes resulting in a device that combines diagnostics, medication and journaling - facilitating a normal way of life for millions of diabetics worldwide. During the final phases of the product manufacturing preparations Brighter has, following user feedback, decided to revise the design of the lancet mechanism and its lid to improve usability and thus the user experience of the function. As a consequence, the launch will be postponed relative to what has been communicated earlier.

“We have analyzed the benefits of executing the revision against the disadvantages of a postponement of the launch and concluded that the benefits come out on top. We are of the opinion that the improved functionality is beneficial to all stakeholders; users, caregivers, payers (reimbursement systems, insurance companies and users) as well as shareholders. Our promise to the stakeholders is to deliver an innovative, user friendly and state-of-the-art device to diabetics all over the world is now further accomplished. All other parts of the device are in line and will not be affected by the revision of the lancet mechanism and its lid, says Brighter's CEO Truls Sjöstedt.

The CE-certification process, which is conducted in parallel with the manufacturing set-up, will, just as before, follow the timeline for the product.
