Broadwave not awarded a UMTS licence in Sweden The Swedish National Post and Telecommunications Agency has today announced the players in Sweden who have been awarded a UMTS licence. Broadwave Communications was one of ten applicants for a licence, but according to the information released today is not one of the four selected. - The decision is not what we had hoped for. We were looking forward to receiving a licence. We must assume that the Post and Telecommunications Agency, PTS, considered that those who were awarded a licence are better able to fulfil the requirements for building the third-generation mobile system and creating competition in the market than Broadwave, says Christer Palmgren, spokesman for the consortium. - Broadwave respects the Post and Telecommunications Agency's decision and currently has no plans to appeal, says Christer Palmgren in conclusion.
