Celebrity Spotting In NYC
- With Broadway @ Times Square Hotel -
Take a trip to NYC and keep a sharp eye out for some of the world’s most famous faces. From clusters of high-profile residences across the city to big-screen filming locations and the chance to visit the country’s most prestigious TV studios (for free), NYC is packed to the rafters with celebrity icons. Situated in the midst of trendy Midtown Manhattan is Broadway @ Times Square Hotel, offering free breakfast, wi-fi and rooms from under £82 per person per night this October.
Just steps from the doors of Broadway @ Times Square Hotel, some of the world’s most iconic stars have homes in Manhattan including Samuel L Jackson, Nicole Kidman and David Bowie. Within a 10-minute walk from the hotel, look out for Matt Damon’s apartment on W 88th Street, Al Pacino near W 79th Street and Bono just off Central Park West.
In addition to the scores of high-profile homes in the city, this year the Big Apple broke its own record for the number of TV shows filmed within the city, including HBO’s ‘Girls’, ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and NBC’s ‘30 Rock’. Hot stuff in Hollywood too, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ featuring Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed in Queens Supreme Court this year while Will Smith’s ‘Winter’s Tale’ (set for release in 2014) was shot in Manhattan Surrogate’s Court.
If finding a film set proves too tricky, go all out and register to watch a TV show for free in one of New York’s famous TV studios. Located on Times Square, just up the road from the hotel, the ABC studios host iconic daily TV show ‘Good Morning America’. Catch the nation’s favourite hosts Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Lara Spencer film live on weekdays at 7am (though expect to queue from 6am!). It’s always best to reserve a spot online for a free backstage tour.
If early mornings are a little off-putting, register online for tickets to the famous ‘Late Show with David Letterman’. The world-famous late-night comedy show has been running since 1993 on CBS and features celebrity guests and musical acts. Recent guests include Serena Williams, Jake Gyllenhaal and Queen Latifa. The Late Show films on 1697 Broadway at various times in the afternoon and evening throughout the week. Tickets are awarded on a lottery basis.
Stay just a short walk away at Broadway @ Times Square Hotel and enjoy complimentary breakfast and wi-fi. Double rooms start from $254.99 (under £82 per person) plus taxes in 2013. To book visit www.applecorehotels.co.uk/hotels/broadway-at-times-square-hotel or call freephone 0808 178 6363.
